Guidlines for Authors

Literary Enigma invites original, scholarly contributions in the fields of English language, literature, and cultural studies. Authors are encouraged to follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth submission, review, and publication process.

General Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions must be original, unpublished works that are not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Manuscripts should be written in clear and concise English. Either American or British English is acceptable, but consistency must be maintained.

  • All submissions will undergo a plagiarism check. Articles with a similarity index exceeding 10% may be rejected.

  • Articles should align with the journal's focus on English language, literature, and culture.

Manuscript Format

  1. Length:

    • Research articles: 3,000–7,000 words.

    • Review articles: 1,500–4,000 words.

    • Case studies: 2,000–3,500 words.

  2. File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  3. Font and Spacing:

    • Text: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced.

    • Headings: Bold, appropriately numbered, and in title case.

    • Margins: 1 inch on all sides.

  4. Referencing Style: Follow the MLA 9th Edition guidelines for citations and references.

Manuscript Structure

Title Page:

  • Title of the paper (centered, bold, and concise).

  • Author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information.

  • A short biographical note (50–100 words) for each author.

Abstract:

  • 150–250 words summarizing the objectives, methodology, findings, and significance.

  • Include 4–6 keywords below the abstract.

Main Text:

  • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance.

  • Literature Review: Summarize relevant studies and highlight the research gap.

  • Methodology: Describe the research design, tools, and approach.

  • Results and Discussion: Present findings and discuss their implications.

  • Conclusion: Summarize key insights and suggest directions for future research.

References:

Figures and Tables:

  • Include figures, tables, or illustrations as separate files or embedded in the text with clear labels.

  • Provide captions and sources (if applicable).

Submission Process

  1. Submit your manuscript through the journal’s online submission system or via email at editor@literaryenigma.com.

  2. Ensure that your submission includes:

    • The manuscript file.

    • A cover letter detailing the submission’s significance and its alignment with the journal’s scope.

Peer Review Process

  1. Submissions will undergo an initial editorial screening.

  2. Manuscripts passing the initial check will be sent for double-blind peer review.

  3. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ feedback.

Post-Acceptance

  1. Accepted manuscripts will be copyedited for language, formatting, and consistency.

  2. Authors will receive proofs for review before final publication.

  3. Each published article will be assigned a DOI and made available as open access.

Ethical Considerations

  1. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.

  2. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.

  3. The journal reserves the right to retract articles that violate ethical standards.
