Plagiarism Policy
At Literary Enigma, we uphold the highest standards of integrity and originality in publishing scholarly works. Plagiarism undermines the academic process and compromises the credibility of research. This policy outlines our approach to preventing and addressing plagiarism in submitted manuscripts.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism occurs when an author uses someone else’s work, ideas, or words without proper acknowledgment. This includes:
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text verbatim without citation.
Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one’s previously published work without appropriate reference.
Mosaic Plagiarism: Patching phrases or ideas from multiple sources without proper attribution.
Improper Citation: Failing to credit the original source accurately or adequately.
Policy Guidelines
Originality of Submissions
All manuscripts must be original and unpublished. Authors must ensure that their work does not contain plagiarized content.
Submissions will undergo rigorous scrutiny to detect similarities and ensure originality.
Plagiarism Detection
Literary Enigma uses advanced plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate) to screen all submissions.
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 10% (excluding references, quotes, and common phrases) may be rejected outright or sent back for revision.
Author Responsibility
Authors are required to properly attribute all sources, including text, data, images, and ideas.
Authors must disclose any overlap with previously published works in their cover letter.
Consequences of Plagiarism
Minor Overlap: Authors will be asked to revise and resubmit the manuscript with proper citations.
Major Plagiarism: The submission will be rejected, and the author may be banned from future submissions.
Post-Publication Plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted, and a public notice will be issued.
Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors are expected to flag any suspected plagiarism during the review process.
Ethical Compliance
Literary Enigma follows the ethical guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to handle cases of suspected plagiarism responsibly and transparently.
Appeal Process
Authors may appeal a plagiarism decision by providing additional evidence or clarification to the editorial board. Appeals must be submitted within 15 days of receiving the decision.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must ensure proper acknowledgment of all sources, whether published or unpublished, using a recognized citation style (e.g., MLA, APA).
